Ok so that's Day 1 done and out of the way. Wii night involved the boys doing more of the wii than me but it's a start and by the time I got the monkeys to bed it was too late to get the measuring tape out as I had forgot.
Still feel quite jolly at the moment and was good at home last night as I only had my dinner and didn't get round to eating my afternoon snack. So hopefully that's a bonus.
I tried also last night to get myself prepared for today and I think I was on to a roll, I had measured out all the bits I needed for breakfast in the morning and started preparing dinner for Day 2 whilst Day 1's was cooking, I took it too the extreme and actually made 2 dinners for Day 2. One for Day 2 and one for the freezer for next week when I am a bit busier.
I was in a good frame of mind and I knew exactly what I needed to eat and when.
Breakfast was a smoothie made with Banana, Strawberries and Orange Juice (I had to substitute the Orange Juice for Tropical but it still tasted nice) - Andrew bless him help me put all the fruit in the blender and turn it on, however he wasn't as keen to try any!
Once at work I followed this with a single brown wholemeal slice of toast topped with Marmalade and a cup of tea. Still feeling good and then later in the morning tucked into some raisins. Forgot all about the yogurt so will save this for later.
Still not hungry come lunchtime but ploughed forward in preparing my lunch - pitta bread stuffed with salad, chicken and mayo. Well even though I had weighed out the chicken the pitta was still bulging. Lunch was tasty but not enough. However I was pleasently surprised that I don't actually feel hungry.
Again there is temptation at the end of the desk by way of Chocolates, Mini Eggs and now Winegums.
But I am still trying to be good and have only munched on 3 winegums. To stop temptation any further I have had my afternoon snack just to keep me going.
I am looking forward to dinner of Chilli Con Carne with Rice and hopefully will be able to get organised again so that I have everything ready for Day 3.
Must remember - Tape Measure. :-)

Diet Day 1
Well I have decided that after a recent medical check up with my occupational nurse that it was about time to do something with my weight. Although having only a couple of weeks ago completed an amazing 26.2 mile moonwalk around London without feeling too bad, it was still time to do something about my weight.
I have been informed that I have a wedding to attend in July, so I really need to get kickstarted as soon as possible.
So once back in the comfort of my own home I decided that I would join the Tesco Diet online and follow their GI diet. Having ploughed through all their suggestions for food for the week ahead, I am actually not that venturous and changed quite a few of the meal options to something that I am more likely to eat.
I did an online shop for all my ingredients for the week, also knowing that I already had a few bits available at work and that I could top up on other items at Tesco before the weekly shop was due.
Well today was the day and this morning I had a large breakfast of cereal and toast but didn't get round to eating the banana, so I saved this for a snack later should I need it. All was good all morning and I didn't feel hungry at all.
Lunchtime was a bit more sedate. Brown wholemeal bread with wafer thin ham, lettuce and mayo, followed by a yogurt and the banana that was missed from this morning. I also added a small packed of dates. Still all in all not too bad. However on returning from lunch it would appear that a large box of chocolates have appeared at the end of the desk and as yet thankfully aren't open.
Well about 3.30pm the box got opened, this was now lethal, however I did manage to maintain myself until about 4pm. I had 2 chocolates just to keep me going.
I haven't as yet had my afternoon snack so am hoping to have this tonight after dinner if I still feel I need something.
I have decided that tonight I need to check my measurements as I know on previous diets I haven't necessary lost much but have lost inches which helps to keep up the moral.
Also my husband has decided that Tuesday's will be our family Wii night as normally this is an evening whereby we don't do anything with the boys only household chores.
I am quite looking forward to dinner so let's hope it lives up to expectations.
