Diet Day 1

Well I have decided that after a recent medical check up with my occupational nurse that it was about time to do something with my weight. Although having only a couple of weeks ago completed an amazing 26.2 mile moonwalk around London without feeling too bad, it was still time to do something about my weight.

I have been informed that I have a wedding to attend in July, so I really need to get kickstarted as soon as possible.

So once back in the comfort of my own home I decided that I would join the Tesco Diet online and follow their GI diet. Having ploughed through all their suggestions for food for the week ahead, I am actually not that venturous and changed quite a few of the meal options to something that I am more likely to eat.

I did an online shop for all my ingredients for the week, also knowing that I already had a few bits available at work and that I could top up on other items at Tesco before the weekly shop was due.

Well today was the day and this morning I had a large breakfast of cereal and toast but didn't get round to eating the banana, so I saved this for a snack later should I need it.  All was good all morning and I didn't feel hungry at all.

Lunchtime was a bit more sedate. Brown wholemeal bread with wafer thin ham, lettuce and mayo, followed by a yogurt and the banana that was missed from this morning. I also added a small packed of dates. Still all in all not too bad.  However on returning from lunch it would appear that a large box of chocolates have appeared at the end of the desk and as yet thankfully aren't open.

Well about 3.30pm the box got opened, this was now lethal, however I did manage to maintain myself until about 4pm. I had 2 chocolates just to keep me going.

I haven't as yet had my afternoon snack so am hoping to have this tonight after dinner if I still feel I need something.

I have decided that tonight I need to check my measurements as I know on previous diets I haven't necessary lost much but have lost inches which helps to keep up the moral.

Also my husband has decided that Tuesday's will be our family Wii night as normally this is an evening whereby we don't do anything with the boys only household chores.

I am quite looking forward to dinner so let's hope it lives up to expectations.
